ALMOST Springtime

We've been having a lot of fun here in the studio lately with a new project we've been working on called iStockSecrets.com. Both Steve and I have been licensing our photography for a few years with istockphoto.com and it's been ok, nothing to brag about at all, but we've decided to step up our game. Every week, Steve's been setting up the studio and shooting some really fun portraiture. We've also been contacting our past wedding clients too, so if you'd be so considerate to let us use your wedding pix in our portfolios, we'd love to get you some free 8x10 prints! January/February Print Sale!

Hey all, Justin here again at SJ Harmon. All of this nice weather lately has been getting me a little stir crazy here, teasing our photographic brains into thinking it's spring time and we should be out taking photos instead of working on computers all day. HOPEFULLLY, this weekend, we can get out with cameras in hand and snap some fun portraits and scout some cool locations in the Portland area for the coming Summer shoots. Summer Booking Time

Wow, the holidays have been a whirlwind! I got to take the longest vacation I think I've ever had this December/January c/o the awesome snowstorm that shut down NY & NJ for about a week, so that was fun...anyway...it's nice to be home and getting back into the swing of the office. We've been putting a lot of albums together recently which has been great. Bookings have also been picking up lately too, and our calender is filling up. If you're interested in checking out our new work, please give a call, or keep checking the blog for up to date goodies from the studio.

Brian & Shannon

Here’s some awesome shots from Brian & Shannon’s wedding! Shot first at the Nines in downtown, with a reception on a private Oregon ranch, I think in Polk County, this wedding was nothing more than stunning. A great couple to work with, with a great family from around the world. They made an awesome call by having a mobile Batista at their wedding! Nothing like a nice iced Americano on a hot day, good call guys!

April & Bryan

Our first wedding of 2010 was the super radical, super fun event of April & Bryan. We started out at the Hotel Modera a recently revamped hotel in downtown Portland with an absolutely killer contemporary art collection which made for some sweet photos. We were lucky enough to work with Nicole Wagner one of the best makeup artists in the Portland and someone we are fortunate to work with several times a year.

The reception was held in the Portland Art Museum's event space, which features some stellar sculptures, and a pretty awesome interior to work with. We were again, fortunate to work with one of the best catering services in the Northwest, Vibrant Table So, 2 of my favorite vendors in one day, coupled with a totally awesome new couple, radical modern and classical art all around, a solid way to walk into 2010. A New Year and New Wedding Photos!

Happy New Year everyone! Justin here at SJ Harmon, where we were lucky enough to ring in the new year with some newlyweds at some beautiful locations here in Oregon. Sasha & John had an early afternoon wedding at the Portland Mormon Temple and while risking life and lens to the rain, we were able to get some super shots of the couple and the architecture at the temple.

From there, we headed south on I-5 and then west over to Zenith Vineyard, a beautiful Willamette Valley winery with an interior as amazing as the surrounding hills. This place is spot on, and has one of the nicest bridal preparation rooms in the area. Catering was taken care of by Vibrant Table and, as always, was spectacular and highly recommended. All and all, it was a beautiful day and truly a fun shoot. Check out some photos and keep on checking back!
